Following the launch of Atlassian Intelligence last year, a new AI-based product called Rovo is now hitting the market. We believe this is an exciting and forward-thinking solution!
Rovo is designed to make searching, learning, and acting on company information faster and more efficient. It pulls data not only from Atlassian products but also from third-party tools you already use.
Atlassian’s Solution to Breaking Down Information Silos
If you’re like many companies, you probably struggle to keep track of the vast amount of information flowing through various programs and apps daily. As a result, important company data and valuable knowledge often get trapped in so-called information silos. This is where Atlassian Rovo steps in. With this new tool, not only can you find the exact information you’re looking for, but you can also understand its relevance to your work and how to use it effectively—all without needing to switch between tools. This deeper understanding of your company’s data can be a game-changer. Rovo is using the Atlassian Team Graph as Data Source.
AI agents help streamline your workflows by taking on time-consuming tasks or solving complex problems. They generate comprehensive insights, knowledge cards, or detailed data analyses.
Rovo Search – Intelligent Search
Rovo’s search function delivers well-informed answers within seconds. It helps teams sift through vast amounts of complex data to find exactly what they need. This way, you can quickly identify team members with the necessary expertise or find related topics to gain a deeper understanding of your project.
Rovo searches through your Atlassian content and third-party tools like Microsoft Teams or Slack, just as easily as it does with Jira tickets, Google Drive, or SharePoint documents. Importantly, all permissions are fully respected—employees only see the information they’re authorized to access, and administrators have full control over data access.
Rovo Search can also search your in-house applications. The API is designed to connect with custom-developed apps and solutions.
Rovo Chat
With Rovo Chat, teams can engage in interactive conversations. You can ask questions until you get the answers you need. The chat can also generate new ideas, provide helpful feedback, or suggest solutions to problems. Technically it’s ChatGPT with the context of the current view (Issue, Page etc).
Knowledge Cards
Knowledge Cards offer specific information about projects, goals, new team members, and more—all based on your company data. You can quickly see which teams are working on a project. If you’re unsure what an abbreviation or term means, Rovo provides quick definitions and further explanations.
Rovo Agents
Atlassian Rovo’s agents bring specialized knowledge and skills to a wide range of workflows and processes. They enhance areas like workflow management or knowledge management. For example, they help break down large tasks or make critical, complex decisions. Atlassian provides several agents, and thanks to a no-code interface, you can create your own or choose from a wide selection on the Atlassian Marketplace. Its very similar to the ChatGPT own GPTs you can create.

The Foundation of Rovo
Atlassian Rovo is built on Atlassian Intelligence and the Atlassian Teamwork Graph. The Teamwork Graph is a proprietary data model based on years of Atlassian’s experience. It pulls data from your Atlassian tools and other SaaS applications, giving you a comprehensive view of your company’s goals, knowledge, teams, and work. With each new tool connection or project event, the Teamwork Graph maps more connections and expands its knowledge to deliver increasingly relevant results.
